Dr. Cora Best of Minneapolis was a woman far ahead of her time, as a physician, as a section head for the Alpine Club of Canada, and as a mountain climber. Her best friend, Audrey Shippam, was equally as passionate about mountaineering. Much has been written about the first ascents and other accomplishments of Kain and Best.
